Hi fellow horse lovers! I am putting together a fund raiser to help one of our boarders offset some unexpected vet bills. As you know, Cruise suffered a kick injury to the face which sent him to Rood and Riddle for bone repair and staples to close the wound. He came home with antibiotics, pain meds, and a good prognosis. About a week and a half post surgery his eyes had some swelling. They proceeded to get worse over a couple of days and he had to be taken back to Rood and Riddle. The Veterinary staff couldn't really find what was wrong or causing this. They finally did a CT scan and found a 3 inch abcess behind his eye. They really couldn't explain why this would have happened, but the only option was another surgery. While in surgery they had to drill two holes in his skull to drain his sinuses that had become extremely blocked. He remained hospitalized on antibiotics and having his sinuses flushed. He was expected to come home today, but another wrench has been thrown in the mix! His sinuses have again became blocked and they can't determine why this is happening so he will be scoped tomorrow to try to get some answers. The doctors have described him as a very "interesting " case..... but with that and all of the unexpected, unexplained complications comes a VERY hefty bill. I feel bad because we also were just in this situation. I thought I would try to raise some money to help offset some vet bills and help a fellow horse friend out!
