Cristina was born in Hunedoara, Romania and spent her first 19 months of life abandoned in a hospital in Timisoara, Romania. She had her first life-saving open heart surgery at 19 months old (in 2018) in Milan, Italy.

She came to live with me right after this surgery. I knew going into this that her life would not be easy and that she would need many open heart surgeries and eventually a heart/lung transplant.

She learned to walk at 2 years old and quickly caught up with the other kids.
She had her 2 open heart surgery in March 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. We drove 39 hours straight to get to Italy for the much needed surgery! She amazed all the doctors how fast she recovered and was able to go home in just 3 weeks (they said we would stay 2 months).

In December 2020, she was not doing well and we flew to Italy again to find out that she needed another open heart surgery fast. In February 2021, she had her 3rd open heart surgery.
I have been trying to get her to Boson for over a year now. They are the best in the world for her condition and would give her a chance to live to be an adult. I am still fighting to get her to Boston. Currently we are in America and need to raise, very quickly $55,150 for her catheterism intervention at Boston Children’s Hospital. They will close the hole in her heart and then possibly list her for a transplant if they decide it is what she needs now.
Please share our story and donate to help my sweet Cristina. Her name is Nasiya Cristina Mirela and “Nasiya” means miracle. I have seen so many miracles in her life and I have no doubt she will get her big miracle which will give her a chance to live to be an adult.
Cristina came to live with me in foster care in 2018 and I officially adopted her in 2020 :)
THANK YOU!
