Help get Cassandra home
Cassandra is in need of our support.
She had a significant fall which resulted in a fracture of the C5 vertebrae in her neck. She had surgery to remove the broken vertebrae in early August. She has remained incredibly positive and is working hard at her rehabilitation. She currently has movement in her arms and some in her hands, but she is unable to move move her legs and now requires the use of a wheelchair.
She is being discharged from the hospital in the next couple of weeks and in order for her parents, Jack and Tanya, to have Cassandra live with her family, they require modifications to be completed on their home. This includes an accessible washroom and shower, wider doors, flooring that allows for her independence in moving her wheelchair, ramps, stair lifts, and redoing the basement to make it wheelchair accessible. There will also be many future costs, including an accessible vehicle to get her to her various appointments and therapies.
As we can only imagine, these needs are overwhelming to the family.
There are some charities and government supports that have been contacted, but they do not cover all of the financial needs. We are asking on their behalf for financial help to support them through this initial phase of their journey.
We thank you in advance for your support of Cassandra, Jack, Tanya and her sisters.
God bless.
