Carolyn needs an ADA van!

Hello,

My name is Kenny, and many of you know that my wife, Carolyn had a stroke in April 2021. She has come a long way, however, has limited use on her left side. She uses a power chair daily, and when we need to go into town, she transfers to the passenger seat of our Town and Country while I use a portable ramp to put her chair in the van. While this is working, it is not a perfect setup for several reasons. First, I have severe neck and back pain, which leaves me in bed for days, and then Carolyn has no one to take her to church, therapy appointments, shopping or other outings. Other people could take her, but dealing with this current setup is not easy. Sometimes the chair has trouble going up the ramp and tries to tip over or roll back down the ramp. My wife feels it is an accident waiting to happen, especially when loading the power chair in the rain is troublesome since it makes everything so slippery.

We have a Mechanic friend (who has his own shop) selling a 1994 Dodge Caravan ADA van with side and rear ramps where Carolyn could drive her chair right up into it. The van would greatly help us out, so I would not have to fight with the ramp and the chair. There are days when Carolyn has trouble getting her affected leg into the van, especially in the winter months. The van only has 60,000 miles on it, and our friend is preparing it for sale for his aunt's estate. The family would like the deal to be completed as soon as possible. We just found this out yesterday, September 9, 2022. We are trying to step up our fundraising efforts.

I had to update the price of the van. The family decided they wanted $7000 due to the low mileage. The van is in great shape. We feel this is a God send.
