Help Get Camden the Care He Needs as a Preemie!

Donation protected
On August 5 my sister Emily went into labor almost a full trimester early. After a rush to the hospital and an emergency C-section, she gave birth to her son Camden at 2 pounds 12 ounces. When Camden was born he needed a feeding tube and couldn’t breathe on his own. It was also a scary time for Emily, who faced a second emergency surgery and other serious complications.

I am incredibly thankful that Emily is recovering well and baby Camden has made great progress; the top is off of his incubator and he's taking a bottle. His breathing has also come a long way, and Emily and her husband Patrick were able to bring him home on October 2.

However, a huge challenge remains. Because Camden was so premature, he is especially vulnerable to getting sick. Camden's doctors have told Emily and Patrick that Camden can’t go to daycare for at least three months but ideally six, which they were counting on for care at the end of Emily’s maternity leave.

I want to ask you to join me in helping my sister and brother-in-law cover the costs for at home care for Camden until he’s strong enough to go to daycare. A donation of any amount would make a big difference for Emily and Patrick to be able to get my new nephew the care he needs. In particular:

- A donation of $80 would cover the cost in their area of a nanny for a day.
- A donation of $400 would cover the cost in their area of a nanny for a week.
- A donation of $1,600 would cover the cost in their area of a nanny for a month.
- All $5,000 will cover the cost of the nanny for the necessary three months.
- $10,000 will cover the cost of the nanny for the more ideal six months.

Please consider donating to help Camden get the best start in life when he can finally come home from the hospital. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures of his progress thus far below - just think of how much you can help him improve even more under the right care!

Woohoo! The incubator top's off, let's go for a spin!

Look dad, no feeding tube!
