Hello, my name is Emily and I’ve been living in Casablanca, Morocco as a secondary visual arts teacher at an American school for the past two years. I’ve ended up spending the majority of my time here in Morocco, rescuing street cats. Most of the cats I’ve rescued have been in poor condition, and I’ve kept 5 of my rescues to be my own cats, and have managed to find loving homes for several of my fosters.

Unfortunately, my last two foster cats, Big Mister and Holly, I’ve rescued have not found loving families here in Morocco. Most people are only interested in adopting kittens, which makes rescuing adult cats in need, a more risky decision. Regardless, they are just as deserving of love, safety, and comfort, and I will not abandon them to the street again after taking responsibility for their recovery.

I am creating this GoFundMe to help raise money for two round trip flights back to Morocco to bring Big Mister and Holly to Minnesota, where I can continue looking for forever homes for them. As a teacher, I do not make a ton of money, especially not enough to save as many cats as I have. I’ve had to rely heavily on the generosity of others to fund my work, but it has been so rewarding to change so many lives. This is the last push that I will need help with to conclude my rescue mission here in Casablanca.

Unfortunately, you are only allowed one cat per person on a flight, so I will hopefully travel back with my husband, a friend, or my sister to help me bring them both back.

It has been a large puzzle and I’ve had to rely on the kindness of friends and family already to come visit me here in Casablanca to help bring even my own cats back to Minnesota.

Any donation helps, and means the world to myself, Big Mister, and Holly. They deserve a second chance at life, where they don’t have to fight to survive in a concrete city. Thank you for your support in helping me get them back to the US and giving them a second chance!
