Help Get "Between Here And Home" To Festivals

Between Here And Home tells the story of Stella, a confident city girl who moved far away from her small hometown at a young age and never looked back. After the death of her mother, Stella is forced to return to her hometown and come face to face with the trauma, nostalgia, and memories of a life she once abandoned.

Leah Hetteberg, the writer and director, was inspired to create Between Here And Home after listening to the hit indie-folk song, The View Between Villages, by Noah Kahan. The song beautifully exemplifies the guilt, angst, and the many other feelings that come with looking back on a hometown that you spent years trying to escape. Whether you moved across the country or across the street from your childhood home, the rollercoaster of feelings that come with coming back “home” for the first time is somewhat of a universal experience. Between Here And Home attempts to convey the internal dilemma between the comforting familiarity of returning to the place you grew up in and the unsettling dissonance between who you are, and who you have become.

The film premiered at the 2024 Reel Loud Film & Arts Festival and was awarded Best Actress for the lead performance of Stella by Liv Blair. Post-production has finally completed a final cut and we are hoping to send it off to more festivals! There is still a ways to go in fundraising production costs as well as working to cover the fees required for festival submissions, which is why are we pushing another crowdfunding campaign.
