Hi, I am retired and the mother of Ashley Jones. My daughter was born with Arthrogryposis a condition that has affected all her joints which are in a fixed position. She can't bend her knees, her arms are in a bend fixed position that enables her to raise or lift her arms, feed and bathe herself. I am her caregiver that does these things for her and its my pleasure because I love her. She is also unable to stand therefore she uses a motorized wheelchair to get around.
Ashley is a quiet, pleasure, sweet, kind, happy, and intelligent person .People fall in love with her the very first time they meet her. She is in need of a wheelchair accessible van so she can get to her doctor appointments, visit family and friends and attend church. Church is very important to her. Our van is 15 years old and so unreliable. It has stopped numerous times on the road and left us stranded especially when it rains and we feel so vulnerable . I've been on the road to take Ashley to the doctor and had to call to cancelled halfway to the doctor's office because it started to rain out of fear that we were going to get stranded once again.
