Thank you for looking into our story.
Aiden is normally a happy 3 year old boy who loves to run and play.

Monday we had a freak accident of him falling on wet grass and he broke his femur bone. Not a clean break but a long pointy edge x 2 spiral break.
See pics... I cringe looking at it.

The biggest hurdle we now face is not just controlling his pain, keeping his cast dry/clean, but also traveling across the country to our home.
We are visiting in Bedford, Pennsylvania and live in Payson, Az.
Aiden is in a cast that goes from his ribs to his ankle. There is no bending, no weight bearing, no sitting options possible. This means he has to lay down for transport anywhere.

We originally were to fly home. All commercial airlines have said "NO to him laying across 3 seats, on an airplane. "All passengers must sit upright when taking off and landing." I tried calling 4 major airlines, even inquired about 1st class. That door is closed for him.
Looked into a train- you can get a sleeper car- $5k and 52hrs later... maybe not the best option. Longer time and more stops.
Car rentals- we need a bigger car to get Aiden about while still here for doctor appointments. Looking into it- if you dont return your car to the original place rented from (airport) you accrue substantial fees.
We went from a small mid size sedan that fit our family to needing a 3rd row section to lay Aiden down. That increases the cost significantly.

To drive home it is 32+hrs of just drive time. To drive the rental cross country we have gas fees, hotel fees, car rental fees, extra food expenses, and a very bumpy and potentially painful ride for a little boy who has already gone through so so so much.
Stop, Go, Turn, Breaks, Pot Holes, Bumps while laying down with nothing to look at or do... unable to move. That makes for a very very long trip.
Picture below is him loaded into car to leave. He had very little pain coverage going home. It was a very long 2 hours.

Our most recent option is looking into charity flights or health flights to where he can get home in just a few hours which will save him from being in the car for so long. My health insurance wont cover the costs so it is out of pocket for us on top of everything else.
We just want to get Aiden home as Safe, Painfree (as possible), and in a Timely Manner. He has gone through enough and already has a broken spirit about him.

Please anything helps. I dont know the total cost of things. I will have to get him items that will help him with healing over the next few weeks as well.. another wheelchair rental in Az, a bean bag is recommended by the doctor, drink cups that wont spill with tilting it (laying flat), toys, puzzles, coloring books, stickers, books and more to entertain him as well as make all of our lives easier.
ANY and ALL FUNDS would go to the great cause of getting him home and then helping make his life easier.
Our Story From the Beginning:
We havent been on a family vacation in years... since having my oldest (5 years). We figured the three boys (5,3,2) were big enough and it was a great time to get away- Destress. Disconnect. Relax.
Pic of the first day here. Liam is 5, Aiden is 3, Connor just turned 2.

On our first day of family vacation- seeing Brians sister and family in Pennsylvania- Aiden was outside playing on the grass with his cousins and brothers. As we unloaded the groceries we heard a blood curdling scream from Aiden. Brian went to investigate and found Aiden on his back. No open wounds, no bleeding. Just screaming and crying.
He tried to stand Aiden up- and he just collapsed. Carrying him into me in the house we checked out his leg that hurt... I felt a BIG knot, noticed the swelling starting and with the slightest movement noticed how it was dangling there... with a POP. We carried him to the car and took off to the local hospital in Bedford. Xrays taken without any pain meds working showed he did infact have a SPIRAL FRACTURE of his FEMUR. Poor Aiden passed out many times I believe from excessive pain.

Multiple things went down after that, weighed splint to help keep bones from moving, then another splint to make it to Pittsburg Childrens via Ambulance transport. The care was amazing at the Bedford Hospital however he needed Specialized care with a Peds Ortho Team.

In the emergency room at Pittsburgh Childrens the ER/Ortho doctor decided to do conscious sedation and reset the bone in the ER. When we came back into the room Aiden should have been waking up by the 1 hr mark... 2 hours passed, 3 hrs passed. Still not fully awake. His vitals were good but he was out. Pure exhaustion won after fighting pain for so long.

We were admitted to the 6th floor and had a fun time learning about how to diaper him, turn/position, and get items needed to allow him to be functional at home. All costing additional from the original visit costs.

The Ortho doctor recommended that we stay for his follow up due to the risk of his bone shifting. This appointment is for next wednesday. I'm praying it is healing fine and we dont have to reset it and restart the process over.

"Discharged home" is rough because we are no where near home. We are staying with family which is a huge blessing.. however making calls, dealing with medical anything in an area you dont know is very frustrating. I have cried many times today.
Please keep Aiden in your prayers. Help him to get a better control of his pain, heal his body, and have a safe timely way home.
Thank you ALL for your help and prayers.
