Gertie is just a baby and was found on the streets. She is unable to walk on her rear back leg, has a fractured molar, a bacterial infection that has spread all over her belly, and needs to get spayed.
Rescues down here are flooded with stray intakes and unfortunately (because she’s stable) they aren’t able to examine her until April. Gertie will be fostered until she is able to get the medical attention she needs. She’s still a puppy and has a huge zest for life but has only known a tough, painful life. Even tho Gertie was neglected and malnourished, she has been a sweet, playful addition to our household and I’m happy she’s now with us, getting the care she needs.
Gertie will need x-rays for her rear leg and likely surgery or amputation. This surgery ranges anywhere from $1,500-$5,000 depending on the diagnosis. Her dental work and possible extraction ranges from $500-$900. And her spay surgery ranges from $350-$500.
Any and all proceeds will go directly to the veterinary care for Gertie’s treatment plan. Thank you to everyone who has kept up with Gertie’s story!
