Help Gerry Carthy with cancer treatment costs

Hello all!!

Doug Patrick here in Santa Fe, New Mexico and a close friend of Gerry Carthy.

As you may have heard , our friend Gerry Carthy, a Mighty Mayo Man and Class Musician living here in Santa Fe since 1987, was diagnosed with Choroidal malignant melanoma, a sizable tumor, in his left eye in early Spring.

Since that time he has underwent surgery at University of California San Francisco to reattach his retina which detached due to that ocular tumor next to his optic nerve. He then had a week of Proton Radiography treatments at the University of California Davis Cyclotron in an effort to shrink that offending tumor. During this almost 1 month of treatment along with another month of recovery , the medical bills, travel and lodging while in the Bay Area, the loss of his work during this period has caused a financial burden to Gerry.

Awhile back Mick Black , who's known Gerry since the 'auld days' contacted both me and Cormac Gannon about doing a GoFundMe for Gerry.... I am finally getting around to this now since I was up until now, just inundated at work: .....as Gerry has said to me many times on this .."bail o dhia ar an obair!!!"

Mick Black, Cormac Gannon and meself are now organizing that GoFundMe for Gerry Carthy in the amount of $10,000.00 to help offset his recent medical bills and travel costs incurred during his treatment in the Bay Area and also to help with near term future costs with his upcoming medical treatment when he travels back to the Bay Area later this fall/winter...

We are asking that if you could manage it and spare a few quid to help out we would surely appreciate it. Even if that isn't possible, could you please share this GoFundMe campaign with those in your social media circles..
