Help Gerald & his family on his road to recovery

I am organising this fund raiser on behalf of my sister Chari-lee Peel and nephew Gerald Peel-Williams

“Hi, my name is Chari-lee Peel.

I am asking for assistance to go towards accommodation and general daily expenses for me and my family while we are in Adelaide to support our son’s recovery.

As many may be aware, On the 27 August my 13 year old son Gerald was injured during a football game which resulted in us being airlifted from Ceduna Hospital and brought to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide 800 km / 9 hours from home.

Gerald is currently in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide with severe head trauma, and bleeding on his brain, he was put in an induced coma to help with injury, rushed into emergency surgery.

After a long and scary 2 weeks for our family, Gerald is now awake, he is needing a drain to drain excess fluid from his brain, however he is in a stable condition and slowly starting to become himself again.

He has a long road ahead for recovery however this has caused a major and unexpected financial stress for our family as he is required to be in Adelaide for the foreseeable future.

Gerald, His dad, and I have received so much love and support and we would like to thank everyone who has been there to help us this far. ”
