Georgie came into our lives as a pregnant stray who showed up on our property. We started feeding her, and after she had her babies, they took shelter underneath my car. We found a wonderful foster to care for Georgie and her kittens, with the hope of bringing Georgie back once her kittens were weaned. During her time at the foster, Georgie became especially bonded with her only daughter, Isla. On February 12th, we brought both Georgie and Isla home, and they quickly became a cherished part of our family.
On March 1st, Georgie was diagnosed with Dry FIP by an urgent care vet in Aiken, SC. Just a couple of days later, she was hospitalized at Burke County Animal Hospital, where she has been receiving care ever since. The vet bills are already significant and continue to grow, and Georgie will also need another bottle of GS44 medication to complete her treatment once she is able to come home. Our hearts feel so empty without her here, and we are doing everything we can to give her the best chance at recovery.
