Help George Wakio Medical Fees
Hi lovely people, forgive the impersonal nature of this note, just want to get this out there...
You may not know this but before I had Alexander I used to run a charity which focussed on education of needy children in Kenya. Over 20 years, we managed to build 2 schools, one in a town called Voi, situated between Mombasa and Nairobi.
In 2005 we opened the school and were able to help many children who had no family, no funds, and no hope in ever succeeding in life.
But you know what? Education CAN make a difference. It has helped hundreds of young kids in Kenya, many of them now working in their dream jobs which they never thought possible.
George Wakio was one of these boys. He studied hard at St Bartholomew High School despite his lack of family. With no parents, St Barts became George’s family.
A few years on, George graduated as a teacher and decided to give back. He became a teacher at the very school which had given him a leg up in life. He worked hard and became deputy head, and finally in 2018, became the Headmaster of St Bartholomew High School. What an inspiration and what a story.
Except last Friday George was invoked in a terrible road traffic accident and is currently in intensive care in Mombasa. The doctors are working hard to keep him alive. His wife and new baby have 2 concerns.
He won’t make it
They don’t have any funds to pay for the medical bill
You may not know me that well, and I’m sure you don’t know George, but I’m asking for your help.
Even if it’s £1, please, please show George that we care and that people the other side of the world want him to get better and get back to the job he worked so hard for.
If you’re happy to help then please come back to me and I’ll work out a way to get some funds over to George.
Thanks and love,
Andrea
