As many of you know, George Moore was admitted to the hospital on February 17, 2025, after being diagnosed with the flu and pneumonia. His condition quickly worsened, leading to sepsis and requiring life support. On February 24th, George was airlifted to Chapel Hill, not expected to survive the night. In a miraculous turn, he became a candidate for ECMO, a life-saving treatment he remained on for five days.
The following weeks have been a roller coaster of challenges—setbacks, small victories, and countless prayers. After an incredibly difficult and nearly four-month hospital stay, George is finally preparing to come home later this month. This is a moment we have all hoped and fought for, but it comes with significant and immediate needs.
We are raising funds to help support George's transition home and ensure he receives the ongoing care he requires. Donations will go directly toward:
- Medical bills not fully covered by insurance
- In-home care and physical therapy
- Accessibility modifications (wheelchair ramp, bathroom renovations, etc.)
- Specialized medical equipment and supplies
Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful impact in helping George return home safely and with dignity.
We are deeply grateful for the food, gas cards, and other support that many of you have already provided. Your kindness has helped sustain George and his family through this unimaginable journey.
Thank you for standing with us as we take these next steps.
