Help George Learn to Fly.

Hello Hello,

 

My name is George Fewings and I have Fostered a lifelong ambition to learn to fly aircraft. My Dreams of flight started with my families rich history of aviation. My great grandfather George (who I was named after) was a pilot during WW1, he flew Bristol fighters. George had a wonderful life and was a fantastic golfer and Jazz singer who studied music at the barbican after the war. He had one son, My Grandfather, Peter. Peter flew Dakotas during WW2 after joining the RAF at only 16 (he lied on his application as you had to be 18.) Peter had a long career with BA and retired in 1977. He is now living in Toronto and will be 97 on the 5th of February.

 

I have recently been accepted into cadet school in the UK to continue my family's legacy of flight and fulfil my dreams of flying. Unfortunately this is very expensive and while I have my own money saved it is not nearly enough to cover the course cost. Unfortunately flying these days is a rich mans game and I come from a family who would love nothing more than to financially help me towards my goal of being a Pilot but ultimately cannot. My own savings and a small loan from my family will not be enough but if I am able to find another 10 thousand pounds I will be able to cover the loan for the two years while I am training to fly.  Once I have payed off my loans and am working as a pilot I will pay every penny that I earn from this fundraiser to a mental health charity as the idea of taking handouts doesn't sit right with me.
