Hi everyone,
I'm raising funds for my dear childhood friend George, known to most of us as John — a passionate former chef, mountain lover, festival fan, and one of the kindest souls I’ve ever known.
The Accident That Changed Everything
Seven years ago, just before his 34nd birthday, George was enjoying a simple day at the beach with friends in what should have been a fun, carefree moment. They were swimming and playing just ten meters from the shore, when a strong wave slammed him headfirst into the sand.
It sounds almost unbelievable, but in that split second, George’s spine was broken. Since then, he’s lost the use of his legs — and his life changed forever.
Who George Is Today
Now almost 41, George continues to inspire everyone around him. He’s still full of humor, warmth, and positive energy. He loves music, festivals, and great conversation, and he’s never lost the spark that made him such a special person to be around.
But every day is a challenge. With no access to reliable transportation and a worn-out, painful wheelchair, his independence is severely limited.
What He Urgently Needs
• A new, customized wheelchair – €4,000
His current one is no longer safe or usable. A proper chair would drastically improve his comfort, posture, and ability to move freely.
• Car repairs & adaptations – €2,000
His car is the only way to attend medical appointments, see friends, or get out into the world. It needs immediate fixing and adjustments to be wheelchair-accessible again.
Why We’re Raising €6,000 (Or More)
George receives just €120/month in state support. His mother, who takes care of him full time, receives €500/month. That’s not enough to live on—let alone cover major costs like equipment or car repairs.
He never wanted to ask for help. I’ve been trying to convince him for two years to let me do this — and now, with both the wheelchair and car in urgent need, he’s finally said yes.
Let’s show him what community really means.
