PLEASE SUPPORT TEAM GEORGE
George Heath is 11 years old and he loves video games and Dungeons and Dragons; he loves his family and friends, he loves his dog and his cats, and he is a brilliant light in world. George was diagnosed with a rare form of meningitis and encephalitis on April 24th at St. Lukes Wood River and was transported to Boise the following day. Right now, George and his family are fighting with everything they have in the ICU at St. Luke's Children's Hospital in Boise. George's condition is changing day by day, and he has a huge fight ahead of him. Currently, George is stable in the ICU. Yesterday, he stopped breathing and was intubated. Tubes have been inserted to reduce the pressure in his brain, and this appears to working as well.
People from all the over have been sending prayers, positive thoughts and supportive messages, and these are all helping. Please don't stop!! However, you can also help by getting on TEAM George, which means your are also getting on the Heath Family Team!
George's family is a believer in teams; his dad Monty was Navy SEAL for over a decade, where he was on multiple SEAL Teams, which included six overseas deployments, three of which were to Afghanistan after September 11, 2001. Currently Monty, still is giving back to his teams as the director of military programs for the nonprofit organization Higher Ground Sun Valley.
Today, George and his family are fighting with everything they have, and we, at TEAM George believe that he will not only make it, but he will fully recover. But, we also know that it will take a lot. It will take a lot of long days and endless nights, a lot of faith, hope and love, a willingness to stay strong when things appear to be at their worst, and it will take a tremendous amount of time and effort. It will also take a TEAM.
George is in Boise, which is 2.5 hours away from his home in Hailey. This put tremendous pressure on a family and is very expensive to manage. By donating to TEAM George you will help make it easier for Kessy, Monty and Jack to be with George. You support will help with medical expenses and the expenses that build from being 3 hours away from home like food, lodging, time away from work, travel, gas, bills at home, pet care, the list goes on and on.
By joining TEAM George, you can also get information and updates about how he and his family are doing.
We encourage everyone on TEAM George to do whatever else they can and whatever feels right. Just don't stop!
