My partner George and our family has been through a devastating medical ordeal. What began as a routine colonoscopy turned into a nightmare 3 days later when it was discovered his bowel had perforated multiple times, leading to life-threatening complications and a loss of 4cms of bowel. George was rushed into emergency surgery and now faces a long road to recovery, living with an ileostomy bag and coping with immense physical and emotional trauma and still having to go back through major surgery to get his bowel reattached when the time comes in 6 months and then to start the healing journey again.
