Help George Compete at Junior Worlds in Spain!

Hi Everyone,

I'm George Upmeyer, a 19 year old competitive USA Olympic Weightlifter in the 96kg (212lbs) weight class. I started lifting in 4th grade, participated in the Nipher Middle School Weightlifting Club and graduated from Kirkwood High School in 2023. I trained out of my garage for a few years and have been training at Strengthworks in Brentwood for the past 3 years.

This summer, I became the 2024 Junior National Champion, winning gold in Snatch, Clean and Jerk, and Total. Then, I competed for the first time on Team USA at the Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia, a major competition where athletes from North, South, and Central America compete, earning bronze medals in all three lifts.

I'm excited to share that I've qualified to be on the Junior USA World Team and will compete at the Junior World Championship in Spain this fall. Only the top 10 males and females in the country make this team, and I'm currently ranked 6th.

I am fundraising because my competition is self-funded and my coach and I will need to cover all of my competition costs and travel expenses. We would be incredibly grateful for any contribution, no matter the amount.
