George is a dear friend and a valued member of the Buffalo community. After living, studying, and working in the United States for more than three years, George was taken into ICE custody and is now being held in a detention center. George earned a medical degree and has continued dedicating that knowledge and care to helping others through work at Evergreen Health in Buffalo. Over the past several years, George has built a life here through friendships, hard work, and service to others. To those who know George, this is someone with a deeply kind heart who shows up for people, checks in, and offers support when it is needed most. In a single day, the life George worked so hard to build was turned upside down.

Right now, George is separated from friends and community and is unable to work while the legal situation is being addressed.
