Help George B Oberg Jr Stay in Safe Care
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Lloyd. I’ve been a friend of George B Oberg Jr for 48 years. Thirty-something years ago I agreed to be his POA and now he needs our help. You can learn about George in this story “Time Will Tell” from Clark College Foundation. It’s hard to believe that article was published only four years ago. George did a lot for the LGBTQIA+ Movement in the Vancouver/Portland Metro area over a 50-year period.
It was always my goal to help George stay in his home. However, after a debilitating illness and progressive memory loss, it was clear George needed more care than I could give, or he could afford. He now needs the equity in his home to pay for this care. So, I made the difficult decision to move George into an adult family home and put his house up for sale. The intent was to sell the house to afford George the ability to live in the adult family home.
Unfortunately, with increased interest rates and a decline in housing sales, the house hasn’t sold as quickly as expected. We’re seeking $16,000, as an initial goal, to pay for George’s care for two months. The hope is, the house will sell by then.
Any amount you are able to contribute for George’s care would be greatly appreciated. Also, please share our plight with others. Thank you for your support.
