We’re reaching out to ask for your help in supporting a beautiful family—Geoffrey, Rachel, and their newborn son, Rapha—as they face an incredibly difficult and emotional journey.

Rachel’s Story

Five years ago, Rachel was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and has bravely faced every challenge the disease has brought her way—including a metal implant and extensive treatment since then. Most recently, while pregnant with her and Geoffrey’s first child, she received the devastating news that the cancer had metastasized (in simple terms, tumors had now developed around her lungs and in her abdomen).

Choosing courage and selflessness, Rachel delayed mainstream treatment to protect the life growing inside her. Their son, Rapha, was born on May 30, 2025—a moment of joy amidst the pain. But by then, her tumors had grown significantly, some measuring around 15cm.

Since shortly after Rapha’s birth, Rachel has been hospitalized and is now intubated, and has undergone chemotherapy and, presently, radiation. She continues to fight for her life and her future with her family.

Geoffrey’s Mental Health Struggles

Geoffrey has been battling depression and anxiety, exacerbated by the emotional and physical weight of a critically ill wife and a newborn son which has taken a toll. With Rachel in the hospital, Geoffrey is navigating the depths of grief, worry, and exhaustion—all while trying to be strong for his wife and their child.

Baby Rapha is currently being lovingly cared for by Rachel’s sister and family while Geoffrey and Rachel face these ongoing medical challenges.

• Rachel’s outpatient medical care following her hospital stay

• Mental health support for Geoffrey, including counseling, therapy programs, and medication

• Daily living expenses, including the ongoing costs of caring for a newborn and sick wife, while time off work is needed

• Unforeseen costs that will arise as this family navigates recovery, healing, and the path forward
