Help Geoff Fox's Family After His Courageous 8-Year Battle.

My name is Melissa Fox, and I'm Geoff and Helaine's cousin, best friend, and attorney. I'm setting up this GoFundMe to help relieve the overwhelming debt this beautiful family has faced during Geoff's courageous fight against pancreatic cancer.

Who Geoff Was:

For decades, Geoff Fox was a trusted and beloved voice across multiple markets. He served as Chief Meteorologist at News Channel Nebraska and Scripps News, and was a fixture in Connecticut television at WTNH-TV, Fox CT, and WTNH News 8. Earlier in his career, he was a PM Magazine Host and Weather Anchor at WGRZ in Buffalo and even started as a disk jockey at WPEN. Geoff didn't just report the weather - he connected with his viewers and became part of their daily lives.

Geoff's Battle:

In 2016, Geoff was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and his and Helaine's lives changed forever. Although he survived the grueling Whipple surgery plus multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, he was never the same. The surgery left him with diabetes, and his doctors - while amazed at his resilience - knew the road ahead would be difficult.

After his last round of radiation, Geoff's stamina was greatly diminished. Working full time was no longer possible. When vocal cord problems developed, working became nearly impossible. Eventually, work had to stop completely. For a man who had devoted his career to serving the communities he loved, this was devastating.

A Life of Generosity:

Throughout his career, Geoff and Helaine donated countless hours and resources to charitable causes. For years before his own diabetes diagnosis, Geoff was the face of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Connecticut. The American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer's Foundation, and so many other worthy organizations benefited from Geoff's generous spirit. He was always so happy he could help others.

Even during his illness, Geoff had plans to develop and sell weather-related websites that would have relieved their financial burden - but sadly, he didn't have the energy to complete them.
