Geo started showing flu-like symptoms a few weeks ago. He was taken in for a regular check-up and was told it was a common cold. After weeks of not getting better, he was taken back in for a thorough checkup where they discovered a mass on his chest. He was immediately referred to the Children's Hospital in Denver where they diagnosed Hodgkin Lymphoma stage 2 on Christmas Eve. He was put on oxygen as he also had pneumonia. As of today, his lungs are strong enough to begin chemotherapy. While we're hopeful and praying for a full recovery, the road to remission will be very hard on him and his family. Geo is in his first year of high school and was on the football team leading up to his diagnosis. He is the most responsible and kindhearted 14-year-old I've ever met. Our family actually jokes that he's more mature than us adults.
