Help Geniva rebuild her home
Donation protected
This is Geniva, mum to two small children, standing outside of what used to be her home in the Philippines. Geniva is our fantastic colleague, working alongside us for the last 4 years and we are asking for your help to rebuild her home for her young family after this devastation. (You can see more photos of what happened below)
Her home was destroyed when Typhoon Rai, a Category 5 super typhoon hit her town in the Philippines in December 2021. Across the Philippines, the typhoon left hundreds dead, hundreds more missing and over $1bn worth of damage. Geniva's entire town was wiped out. This left Geniva, together with her young family, desperately trying to find new temporary accommodation, while she finds the money to rebuild her home.

We are economists at Trinity College Dublin and UC Merced and we've been working with Geniva on a long-run economic research project for the past 4 years. Together with coauthors across a number of institutions, we are working on a major ten-year project measuring housing market outcomes over the long run, in dozens of cities in economies such as the USA, Canada, Ireland and the UK. Geniva provides key data entry services and is an invaluable member of the team. We want to take this opportunity to support our great colleague in her time of need.
We'd be very grateful if you could help her in any way as she looks to support her family through this terrible time, and tries to rebuild her home and her future.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Ronan Lyons (TCD) and Rowena Gray (UC Merced).
