Help Geneva Love Remain Housed

Hey!

My name is Geneva Love Frazier, I am a NYC native DJ/MC/Organizer and a woman of Trans Experience ️‍⚧️⚧️.

I am currently facing housing insecurity with a hard deadline of May 6 to either pay the back rent or be evicted.

From mid 2023-July 2024 I spent nearly the entire time unemployed, searching for stable work to no avail. I was solely surviving through DJ gigs/artist residency stipend. However these funds were not enough to pay my entire rent in full which led to an accumulation of back rent totaling 6,000 while I was unemployed. I am now employed with two jobs along with my gigs, which affords me the ability to pay my monthly rent, but I am still unable to repay the rental debt I have accumulated. My landlord has given me two weeks to pay the debt or move out. I have lived in my apartment for five years and would love to maintain what I have made into a sanctuary for myself and loved ones who needed a place to stay. COMMUNITY I NEED YALL TO COME THROUGH FOR ME. It’s out of my hands and I have exhausted all that I can do on my own. It would mean the world to me if folks can take the time to share/boost/ donate to my Gofundme to help me avoid the stressors of becoming homeless or having to find a place to stay at such short notice. My usual strategy when facing adversity is to self-isolate and struggle by myself. This is generally a coping mechanism that has worked itself out for me in the past, but now I am trying to unlearn this pattern. I’ve been expressing to my loved ones some of the challenges I’ve been facing over the past couple weeks and their first response has always been to remind me “You have so much community” “you don’t have to do this alone, people will help you”

So I am heeding to that wisdom and calling on community to help me navigate a very difficult situation
