My name is Genesis Flores, I am a caring mother of two toddlers facing obstacle after obstacle trying to find a safe and stable living situation. For over a year I have gone through homelessness, bedbugs, hotels and other challenges. Now my 3 year old with autism and I are being harassed by a neighbor, escalating our urgent need for a safer and larger space. On top of that, we have been greatly affected by the ICE metro surge and having to shelter in place after a family member was detained. We are asking for support in paying off a debt on a previous rental so there are options for other housing. We also need help with a deposit and first month's rent. All other money raised will be used for moving costs and other basic necessities. We understand that resources are stretched thin but finding safe and stable housing that meets my kids needs is essential for my family to avoid homelessness again.
