Recently, my grandpa, Gene, received some devastating news that was never expected, the big C word. He was experiencing some back pain which led to multiple visits to the doctor and ER. He got transferred to Saint Cloud CentraCare by ambulance. We found out that the cancer has progressed to a majority of his body and will not be curable. Since the prognosis, Gene has undergone a major surgery to remove some of the cancer and long stays at the Saint Cloud hospital.

Recently, Gene has been moved to Hospice in Redwood Falls and will plan to live out his future days there. Unfortunately, Gene and Sharon’s health insurance does not cover his stay at hospice and with the unknown amount of time he will spend there, it is a heavy burden on the family during the last moments together. They also have medical bills from the previous visits and medications throughout his journey with cancer. Any help would be appreciated to help cover costs of medical costs and future funeral expenses.
