General came into our lives through a local cat rescue, along with his littermate Luna. After losing our senior dog, our home felt empty, and we weren’t sure if we were ready for another pet. But when we met General (then called Sugar) and Luna (Elena), we instantly knew they belonged with us. General’s gentle, loving nature and Luna’s quiet bond with him made it impossible to separate them, so we adopted both. They are a truly bonded pair—Luna is always by General’s side, and their connection is undeniable. When General had to spend just one day away at the vet, Luna panicked and was visibly distressed. It’s heartbreaking to think of her going through that again if General needs more emergency care. General quickly became the heart of our home—he’s always friendly to visitors, patient with children, and gentle with the foster kittens we’ve welcomed. His sweet personality has brought so much joy and comfort to our family. Recently, General faced a serious health crisis when he developed a urinary blockage. There was a moment when we feared we might lose him, but he fought through and recovered. Unfortunately, the vet warned us that he’s likely to experience another blockage, and the only long-term solution is PU surgery. Repeated catheterizations are traumatic for General and stressful for Luna, and the cost of ongoing emergency care will only add up over time. We want to give General the best chance at a healthy, happy life, and keep Luna from the anxiety of being separated from her best friend.
