Gene was diagnosed with epithelioid angiosarcoma on January 9th, 2015. Angiosarcoma is a rare cancer that develops within the lining of blood vessels and lymph vessels. This cancer can occur anywhere in the body and is very invasive.
Gene’s battle is ongoing and has been in several trials over the years to shrink the size of the angiosarcoma. Despite efforts from multiple doctors and trials, the cancer continues to grow. Not only does he have angiosarcoma internally, but it has now spread externally to his skin.
Due to complications that come with this type of cancer on the skin, bleeding is occurring and is compounded by Gene’s anemia. These complications have forced him to undergo an invasive surgery in Santa Monica. We will be traveling there in the next few weeks for this surgery. After the surgery, he will not be able to return home until he is healed. Gene has traveled many times before for treatments and these visits have been costly. We are looking to our family and friends for support in funding this visit. If you can assist and we greatly appreciate any support you can provide.
