Support for Gene Guido’s family

This past December Gene began feeling like he was having an ordinary upset stomach. By January they were becoming more frequent and his wife Rose decided it was time to call the Doctor, who ordered a routine CT scan. The scan revealed something far worse...stage 4 pancreatic cancer that has also spread to his liver. They quickly made an appointment with the doctors at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. On his first visit January 29th he was immediately admitted to their hospital due to severe dehydration and dangerous potassium levels. Two days later he received his first round of 24 hour chemotherapy treatment. To say that this is all happening fast would be an understatement.

If you know Gene, you know that he is truly one of the nicest people you could ever have as a friend. More importantly he’s a devoted husband, who adores his wife Rose (married 31 yrs this May) and a loving & supportive father to Amanda & Jason their children.

Gene is also the main provider for his family and has quite the battle ahead of him. The Guido's are approaching this with as much hope and positivity as possible. They have expressed gratitude for everyone's outreach and strongly believe in the power of prayer.

Right now the doctors are working on trying to slow the growth of the tumors in his liver.

Rose has also been taking time off from work to accompany Gene to all his appointments and treatments. The Guido's will need financial support to help subsidize any loss of income and help elevate the stress of financial burden due to co pays, insurance premiums, medical specialists, any treatments not covered by insurance, prescriptions, traveling to and from Manhattan and etc. Rose and Gene have a history of being generous during friends and neighbors time of need, whether sending food over to a sick neighbors house or making a donation towards their cause, and now they could use our help.
