Help Save Gene Weierbach’s Auto Repair Business
Hi, I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Gene and Debbie Weierbach, hardworking, humble members of the North Whitehall Township community who are in the fight of their lives—against unfair treatment by their own local government.
Gene is a skilled auto mechanic who has run a mobile repair business on his own property for over 20 years. He’s the kind of guy who quietly shows up for others—whether that’s fixing your car at a fair price, caring full-time for his disabled adult son with autism and a heart condition, or volunteering for disaster relief after hurricanes and floods across the country.
But right now, Gene needs help. His business—and his ability to support his family—is at serious risk because of a personal vendetta from a township official.
---
What’s Happening?
In early 2023, after a number of unreasonable complaints from longtime customer Dennis Klusaritz—who also happens to be a North Whitehall Township Supervisor—Gene politely suggested that he might be happier going to another mechanic. Not long after, Gene received a Cease and Desist order and a Notice of Violation from the township.
It was later revealed that the “anonymous” complaint behind this action was filed by Klusaritz himself, who then sat on the board responsible for enforcing it.
Despite Gene’s full compliance with township rules—and a ruling in his favor from the Zoning Hearing Board—the township, led by Klusaritz, appealed their own board’s decision.
Now Gene and Debbie are stuck in a legal nightmare, fighting to keep a completely legal, quiet, and respectful business alive. They’ve already spent nearly $50,000 in legal fees, with no end in sight.
---
Why This Matters
Gene isn’t a faceless business owner. He’s a father, a neighbor, a caregiver, and a community volunteer. He runs his auto business on a 16-acre property, with no complaints from neighbors. He pays taxes. He plays by the rules.
He shouldn’t have to go bankrupt because one local official got offended.
And while massive commercial projects go unchallenged, Gene’s family business is being crushed by bureaucracy, politics, and personal ego.
