My name is Naika Bouquet, and I’m reaching out with the heaviest heart to save my sweet 5-year-old Golden Doodle. Gemini was just diagnosed with a large mass on his spleen. The vet explained that without urgent surgery to remove it, his spleen could rupture at any moment — which would be fatal.

Gemini isn’t just a pet — he’s my best friend, my comfort, and a true member of the family. He’s a big dog, and sometimes people are nervous when they first see him, but once they get to know him, they realize he’s just a giant teddy bear — full of love, kindness, and goofy energy. He’s always been gentle, caring, and the kind of dog who hates any form of violence. His only mission has always been to make people smile.

Seeing him now breaks my heart. He has gone from being a ball of energy — running, playing, and filling the house with life — to literally fighting to breathe. He’s lost so much weight, and every day feels like he’s slipping away. The only thing standing between him and the chance to get back to his happy, loving self is this surgery.

The doctors believe there is hope — they don’t think the mass is cancerous, but the only way to know for sure is through surgery and biopsy. The surgery could give him many more happy years of life. Without it, I could lose him far too soon.

Unfortunately, this diagnosis came at the worst possible time. I am currently struggling financially, and I simply cannot afford the full cost of this unexpected, life-saving surgery. The estimate for his care is around $8,783.42, which is far beyond what I can manage on my own right now.

I’ve applied for assistance programs and am doing everything I can, but I still need help. Some of them can’t help due to where I live in NY. That’s why I’m turning to you — friends, family, kind strangers, and fellow dog lovers.
