Help Geisha Davis get a safe home

Donation protected
Dear friends,

I am planning to buy a home of my own for the first time so that I can make my cost of living more affordable and my living safer, after a fire in the block where I live I currently live in a very small room, with only one window and no proper fire safety. I'm now saving for a deposit to have more security for the future. I’m doing this on a very low income, so any help you are able to give me will provide me with a better deposit making it possible for me to have a more affordable monthly repayment. rate.

This might be cheeky to ask but… would you like to contribute?

Why am I asking for help?

I am not planning to get married or have children, so if you would have contributed to my wedding, perhaps you might like to give a donation towards something else which will help give me the stability to continue on my creative path instead? There are so many costs involved in buying so anything I raise here will help with paying me to put as much as I can towards a deposit and to getting an affordable mortgage repayment rate.

The journey hasn’t been easy. Like many first-time buyers, I’ve faced unexpected challenges, especially with the high down payments required to secure a home. Despite careful budgeting and determination, the rising costs have made it difficult to reach my goal on my own. That’s why I’m reaching out to all my friends for support. to friends, family, and anyone who believes in helping others achieve their dreams.

Every contribution will go directly toward the down payment and related expenses for my first home. Your support will bring me one step closer to making this dream a reality, giving both me and my pets a safe and happy place to call our own. Thank you for being part of this important milestone in my life.

How you can help
Donate:
The amount I am trying to raise is £15000. There’s no expectation or obligation to give anything and I wouldn’t want you to feel awkward about not doing so. I do feel cheeky asking. But I’m working as hard as I can in various ways to save to get a deposit together and there’s a limit to how much I can do on my own. Any amount you might give is very welcome. Any amount, however small, would be a big help and much appreciated. You can even give anonymously if you prefer.

Give as an exchange:
You might feel more comfortable giving in exchange for something, in which case scroll down a bit further for options.

Offer advice:
If you have any useful information about raising money, any helpful tips about the process of first time buying/mortgages/solicitors etc it would be very helpful to hear your experiences.

Share your contacts:
If you know any wealthy philanthropists, then feel free to send them my way! But seriously, the power of community can be amazing, and if you feel moved to share this with any of your contacts/networks, that would be amazing.

Refer people to my work:
It might be that you know people who would be interested in focusing and my role as an inspirational influencer. If so, feel free to pass on my info also. Here’s my website www.youtube.com/geishadavis You can find a link to my years as an influencer on this link here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2W-l2uWtOQ&t=4s

Moral support/hearing from you:
Quite apart from any of the above it is really helpful just hearing people's encouragement. It would be lovely hearing back from you if you’d like to be in touch (and no pressure if not!) Going through my contacts brought back such lovely memories. I really feel I’ve met such a lot of great people throughout my life.

Your help will help me give back
It’s been important to me, throughout my life, to find ways of helping sick and under-privileged people through my art and life experiences. With your help I can have a more stable life, allowing me to expand my projects and the help I give to the world.

And what do you get out of it?
You might like the warm fuzzy feeling of creating a world where people support each other and it’s ok to ask for help when you need it.
If you would like me to give you a written acknowledgement I will happily do this. Or maybe you would feel more comfortable contributing in exchange for something?
A funky top or souvenir:
You can commission me to make you one.

Thank you in advance for any support you’re able to offer me.

And thank you so much to those in my life who have over the years already supported me financially or otherwise in being able to pursue my studies, build my brand as an artist and now save towards a mortgage deposit. Your help has been invaluable.

Warm wishes,

Geisha Davis

About Geisha Davis and life so far…
My creative story is made up of projects I have directed and created. Over the last 18 years, I have inspired others who were struggling with trauma and have involved all kinds of people, irrespective of age, gender, race or culture, working together on videos and live shows. These projects were often inspired by my life experiences and the struggles I have been through or the struggles I have witnessed and they demonstrate how I overcame those traumas and continued pursuing my life goals. They were often created in spite of the obstacles that life sometimes put in my way such as studying for a BA honours while I was homeless and a victim of domestic violence and indecent assault or getting a Masters degree during lockdown in the covid pandemic. One piece in particular that I directed started last year when I curated a series of exhibitions which led to producing a theatre show which involved underprivileged artists of all ages, genders and cultures coming together to create a show that broke the boundaries of traditional theatre. This was all at a time when there were not many opportunities for artists due to the pandemic, especially new artists trying to get their first break in the industry. Please feel free to check out the link below with an interview about this theatre show, called ''Glitch''.
