Hi, my name is Teddi, and I'm proud to call myself a niece of Gilbert "Geebee" Zapanta. My Uncle Geebee sadly suffered a brain hemorrhage after experiencing a bad fall while on vacation in South Korea. He has undergone two surgeries and is still currently in the trauma ICU.
Uncle Geebee is a gem of a human being. To me, he is my uncle who drives 1–2 hours to pick me up from the SFO airport every year. To his friends, he is someone who they can undoubtedly count on even if he isn't in the Philippines. To his daughter and grandkids, he's a superhero who does everything in his power to make them happy. And to his wife, he is her partner whom she can rely on always in all ways.
He is incredibly selfless, hardworking, and generous. And it truly breaks my heart to know that a good man like him is hospitalized right now. Thankfully, my Aunt Frances has been by his side the entire time as he's in the ICU in South Korea.
All of this has been very difficult for them since they're far away from their home — and family — in California. Moreover, the expenses of neurosurgery are not only piling up but also are quite overwhelming. My family and I appreciate anything that you can do for my Uncle Geebee. All contributions will go to his medical expenses in South Korea. And if you're unable to donate, please share this with your family and friends.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Geebee's story. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, as he recovers from the surgeries. We are hopeful that he will pull through, and heal from this accident. Geebee is a fighter whom we all love very much.
