Help GB Deaf Men’s Footballers get to Japan for Deaflympic

Donation protected
Meet Memnos, Matthew and Liam - the dedicated Head Coach, Coach, BSL Interpreters for the GB Deaf Men’s Football Team. Alongside a team of passionate and talented Deaf footballers, they’re working tirelessly to represent Great Britain on the world stage at the Deaflympics in Japan this year.

But here’s the reality: they’re doing it all without a penny of support from UK Sport.

Team GB head to the Olympics and Paralympics receiving full backing, however the Deaflympics - an international sporting event older than the Paralympics - is left without funding. No travel support, no accommodation help, no official recognition. Yet the drive, commitment, and pride these players carry is just as powerful.

This year, the football team needs to raise £100,000 to cover the full cost of getting the squad to Japan - flights, hotels, kit, training and essential staff. Without it they risk missing out on the change to compete for Gold on a global stage.

This is why we’ve launched this fundraiser. To help level the playing field. To say that our Deaf athletes matter just as much. And to make sure they have every opportunity to shine.
