A brief update on our friend Ibrahim:
Gaza City is currently affected by escalating daily bombardment and more displacement orders amid an escalating military offensive.
Like many others, Ibrahim is forced to live in a tent, and further displacement is unimaginable for him and his family. Furthermore, the process is very expensive, there is no more space in the south of the Gaza Strip, and the humanitarian situation is extremely dire.
The photos show that he anyhow continues to work as a dentist, treating displaced children on a dental free day in the south of the Gaza Strip.
We are grateful for every donation for him; every small amount helps him to endure the unbearable situation and also gives a little hope for the future.
Thank you for taking the time to consider supporting this fundraiser for our dear friend Ibrahim. Here comes his story:
My name is Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ashi, I’m a 29-year-old dentist from Gaza. Before the war, I had a stable and promising life. I was working at a private dental clinic, gaining experience and saving up slowly, with one goal in mind: to get married and start a family in a small, modest home.
But everything changed when the war began.
The clinic I worked in was completely destroyed. The home I was preparing for marriage was severely damaged. I was displaced multiple times, moving between different areas in southern Gaza in search of safety, and now I am living in our partially destroyed house in Gaza.
During this time, I lost everything I had saved. The cost of displacement, securing food, water, and shelter—combined with the skyrocketing prices—completely wiped out my savings. Years of hard work and planning were gone in a matter of weeks.
Despite all this, I remained active in humanitarian work.
I served as a dentist in a medical point supported by Gaza Soup Kitchen, treating displaced families and children suffering from malnutrition. Sadly, that point was bombed and destroyed, along with all our equipment and supplies.
But I continued.
Now, I help organize and distribute clean water to displaced people in overcrowded shelters. Every day, I arrange water deliveries and personally help deliver it to families in need. I see the pain in people’s eyes. I feel it—I live it too. Yet I try to be there for others as much as I can.
Despite the devastation, I still hold onto hope.
I still dream of rebuilding my life, starting a family, and returning to my profession to serve my community as a dentist.
But now, I need your help to make that possible.
Your support will help me:
1. Repair or secure a simple home to live in
2. Prepare for marriage and start a new life
3. Cover urgent needs after months of hardship and loss
Every contribution—no matter how small—makes a difference.
And if you are unable to donate, please share this campaign with others.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my story and helping me believe that a new beginning is still possible.
With gratitude,
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ashi
