Help Gavin the Stone-Tapping Neuro-Spicy Cat from TikTok

Meet Gavin, the quirky Bengal cat who has captured hearts worldwide on TikTok with his unique stone-tapping obsession. People from around the globe send him stones, and in his neurodivergent way, Gavin carefully studies, sits on, and tap-tap-taps each one, inviting everyone into his magical world.

However, at just 4 years old, Gavin is facing serious health challenges that are robbing him of the joy and vitality he once had. He urgently needs two major hip surgeries and ongoing care to become pain-free and regain his quality of life.

How the Funds Will Be Used

£5,500 for Gavin's surgery and a one-week rehabilitation bootcamp

£1,000 for post-surgery physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and laser treatments

Why We Need Your Help

Gavin’s journey has been nothing short of enchanting. However, his health issues are slowing him down, and without these crucial surgeries, Gavin's future looks uncertain. We need your support to help Gavin return to his playful, bouncy self—tapping stones and running across the park with his endearing, crab-like gait. While Gavin’s gentle fascination with stones has made him a beloved figure online, he has been quietly struggling with severe health issues that are both painful and costly. Gavin has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and arthritis in both hips, IBD, colitis, and possibly asthma.

Gavin requires two separate hip surgeries to address his hip dysplasia and arthritis, one for each hip. These surgeries are essential to reduce his pain and improve his mobility. We need to have the surgeries done as soon as possible. With his unique way of navigating the world, there is a risk he could accidentally injure himself further while waiting, not to mention the pain he is enduring. Unfortunately, the surgeries cannot be performed together and must be spaced at least six months apart.

Even after the surgeries, Gavin will need extensive ongoing care, including laser therapy and hydrotherapy, to manage his arthritis and maintain his quality of life. He will also require round-the-clock supervision for the first several weeks post-surgery, which means hiring cat sitters to help care for him while I am at work—a significant financial commitment. I’m already taking one day off work each week to take Gavin to his hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions.

When my husband and I first welcomed Gavin into our home 4 years ago, we were unaware of his underlying health issues. As these conditions surfaced, caring for Gavin quickly became a two-person job. Sadly, after losing my husband to cancer, I have been managing his care and expenses on my own.
