It has been 19 and a half months since I last picked up my camera for work. As of writing this that’s 598 days if anyone is keeping count. Believe me when I say I am. This is the longest time I have been out of work/off the road since 2016. Back in March 2020 the instruments fell quiet and the lights got shut off. And with that, my career. My creative outlet. My financial income. I spent years single handedly growing my career. I slept on floors. I travelled for weeks in a tiny van. I did whatever it took to take my career to the next level. And within a blink of an eye… gone.
In my job speed is very important. The ability to produce and output visual content in a tight turnaround is something I am very proud of being able to do. I have had my current computer set up since early 2017. It has been around the UK, Europe and coast to coast across Canada and America. I dread to think how many photos have been edited on it. Every piece of visual content you have seen from me since 2017 would have passed through that laptop. And now, like all things with this pandemic, it is finally giving up the ghost.
With the complete lack of live music over these last, almost, two years, that has meant that my way to upgrade and improve my equipment has been completely unobtainable. I tried to find ways to navigate this “down time” with the opening of an online store. But again, with my system the way it currently is, it makes the creation of new content a difficult and slow task.
With work now on the horizon I want to be creative again. Creative without restrictions. I have spent a long time waiting for those rooms to open up again and I want to be able to produce the best content possible. My work has been stopped for too long. I want it to come back better than ever before.
I never want to be someone who takes something for nothing. I want to be able to give back to people who help me. I will create and fill a digital folder with special content that won’t get shared anywhere else. It will be for you to download and keep and enjoy. You can print them off, use them as wallpapers, whatever you want. It will be my way of saying thank you for helping me continue in my career.
Any little bit can help. No donation is too small. If you don’t want to donate, you can also help by visiting my webstore and pick up a print (which are currently on sale) or a gift card (for future purchases).
Thank you for reading and being supportive. Thank you.
