Hi everyone, my name is Daffodil. I was born in the Philippines and grew up on the small island of Gaus, Bohol till I was 10 years old and often came back for summer holidays to visit my family.

On 16 December, Central Visayas and Palawan was hit by a powerful typhoon that left communities, land and properties shattered and broken. Gaus Island was heavily impacted, most people have lost their homes and boats damaged which are people's central income and livelihood. Among its neighbouring islands, Gaus is obscure, you can walk from one end to the other just over an hour with a population of 1,107 people (2020 census), a small island community. We're grateful that there are no casualties on the island, but it will take months to years to recover.

This fundraiser is for essential supplies; rice, canned goods, water and medical necessities. It's been a hard year for everyone globally with the pandemic, but if you have anything to spare, a small donation or to share this fundraiser, it would be appreciated. Your donation - big or small will make a difference. I will be working closely with my family members on the ground to get these essentials to the island.
