Help Gashi walk again after a car accident
Dear friends and dog lovers,
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to share the story of our sweet little Gashi. Who on Wednesday evening, was hit by a car and had to be rushed to the emergency room. He looked very hurt after the accident but at just 4 kilos, he was incredibly lucky to survive such a head-on accident.
Miraculously, Gashi didn’t suffer any broken bones or teeth, jaw fractures, or major internal injuries. His spine and internal organs are mostly unharmed, and while he’s currently dealing with lung trauma and mild breathing difficulties, we’re hopeful this will pass in time.
However, Gashi's right front leg was severely affected—the radial nerve, which controls his paw's movement and feeling ability, was badly damaged. As of now, the leg is paralyzed.
We brought Gashi home last night. He’s safe and surrounded by love, but his long road to recovery is just beginning. We’ve been advised to follow up with a veterinary clinic in a week and to begin exploring physiotherapy options to help him regain function in his leg.
So far, the emergency vet bill has cost us €1,400—an amount that has already stretched our finances thin. With upcoming checkups and physical therapy, we’re facing uncertainty and rising costs. We’ve reached pet therapy centers and Vets but we don’t yet know what these treatments will cost.
This is why we’re asking for your help. Gashi is more than just a pet—he’s family. We want to do everything in our power to help him walk on all fours again. We already miss how he used to run around the couch, bed, everywhere with joyfulness.
Every euro counts, and every bit of support means a lot to him. Whether you’re able to donate or simply share this campaign, we are grateful for your kindness and compassion.
Thank you for helping us give Gashi the care he deserves.
With love,
Gashi and his family
