My dad, a disabled veteran who always puts others before himself and wants to be remembered for helping others needs your help. He had a catastrophic fire on his property on Tuesday, 9/2/25, luckily his home was saved so he is not homeless but he lost much of his belongings. Unfortunately, due to living on a very fixed income, insurance was unaffordable, and there is no other resource to go to but to ask here for any support possible.
The fire started on a neighboring property; the cause is currently assumed to be lightning. He lost most of his possessions as a 5th wheel burned that stored many belongings, the garage that had most of his things, along with other damage including our 1967 International Scout. Things lost include his daughter's (my sister's) competition horse riding gear, including saddles, reins, bridles, etc.; my dad's tools, including everything in a Snap-on box; all his Ryobi battery tools; horseshoe hat rack making materials (the shoes were the only thing to make it); a drill press; table saws; all but one of his saddles; a working evaporative (swamp) cooler, window ac, his dryer (currently having to figure out how to dry cloths); and much, much more (too much to list).
I am asking our community for any help you would be willing to provide to help him start to replace things and help with cleanup costs.
