Help Gary Pratt Fight ALS
Donation protected
Life has a way of completely turning things upside down when you least expect it. That being said, my dad, Gary Pratt, was recently diagnosed with ALS. ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a fatal neuromuscular disease that limits physical function by weakening the muscles. Unfortunately, there is no cure for ALS at this point. My dad is the most kind, genuine, and loving person one could ever meet. He is my rock, my biggest role model, and my favorite person. He is an amazing husband, father, friend, son, brother, uncle, and musician. The diagnosis has threatened his ability to play music, which is not only his career but also his passion and a large source of happiness in his life. Fortunately, his bandmates and our church have been a huge help during this time and are doing the best they can to keep him working for as long as possible, which is becoming increasingly harder for him. As expected, this life-changing diagnosis comes with extensive testing, doctor visits and medical bills. Fortunately, my Dad was diagnosed early on in the process, so the chances of slowing down the disease’s progression are a lot better than they typically would be. In this day and age, there are also lots of good options for treatment and medication that can slow the progression of the disease and prolong his life. On behalf of my entire family, any help we can get during this difficult time is greatly appreciated. I would love to be able to give back to my dad just a small portion of what he has given to me, to my family, and the entirety of Hilton Head Island. Please keep all of us, especially my dad, in your prayers. Thank you for your time and consideration.
