Over the past year Gary Brown II has been experiencing symptoms such as extreme swelling of his extremities, pain, sluggishness and was just overall uncomfortable. He had been back and forth to the doctor occasionally as symptoms would get unbearable but not until recently had he actually been admitted to the hospital for testing. Turns out that Gary had been working endless hours at a full time physically demanding job and going about normal every day life with Stage 4 Metastatic small cell carcinoma. Lung Cancer!!!
The cancer is in several of his major organs to include his liver, stomach lining, adrenal glands, pancreas and of course his lungs. In addition to the cancer diagnosis he has also been diagnosed with Cushing's disease. He has been in and out of the hospital over the past month for weeks at a time. He has started aggressive chemo treatments to attack the cancer and is being given an experimental drug that is helping with the Cushing's. We are praising Jesus that he may be able to leave the hospital and continue with chemo treatments from the comfort of his home pending his condition continues to improve.
Gary is only 41 years old and is the only full time income for his beautiful family of 4. His wife Kristi is usually full time hands on with their two gorgeous girls; Kenli and Kennadi. They are only 12 and 3 years old. With the extensive hospital stays and life altering diagnosis he is now being forced to discontinue his job for the time being. He is struggling mentally with this reality as he is used to being their provider. Kristi is back and forth to the hospital and her family is helping with their girls so that she can stay by his side through all of this.
With monthly expenses of $2000 per month and extra gas needed to get back and forth to the hospital mixed with meds and co-pays added in, we are asking for your generosity in helping this family to keep things as together as possible through all of this. We do not know what his medical expenses will total at this point as they are taking it day by day but this will be updated as we go along. I have set a goal for them of $8000.00 and I pray that this will help them to focus on healing, recovery, and spending family time together without financial worry hanging over their heads. Gary is a hard working man and is used to working tirelessly to provide for their family and they are all not use to having to ask for help so they are truly grateful and humbled in allowing us to do this for them.
