Help Gary & Jean After House Fire

After Servpro came in to try to salvage what they can, it looks like about 90% of the contents of the home will be lost. The smoke damage has made most of their possessions unable to be salvaged. Insurance does not cover the contents of the home at full replacement value. All appliances and furniture, as well as most of their possessions, will need to be replaced. As I’m sure you can understand, this is a very difficult and emotional loss of family heirlooms and items that are of significant sentimental value. The out of pocket cost of replacing appliances and furniture alone will be significant once insurance covers 75% or less depending on depreciation. 

An Amazon wishlist will be created to help replace smaller household items, such as linens and kitchen dishes. 

My parents are still living in a hotel with their large dog, Shiloh, and awaiting a home rental from the insurance company.  Any help is appreciated so greatly, as well as your continued prayers. 

I'm starting a GoFundMe to help my parents, Gary and Jean, after they've experienced a devastating house fire. Thankfully, they are safe and staying in an hotel until alternative housing can be arranged. They are both retired and recovery expenses will far outweigh what they can cover. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to their immediate and future needs.

While the structure of the house has remained mostly intact, thanks to the quick response of three local fire departments, the contents of the house suffered devastating damage, covered in acidic, carcinogenic soot and water. The home they've lived in for 48 years is unlivable and very little can be salvaged. The house will need to be gutted and rebuilt. It's estimated they will not be able to live there for 10 months or more.

The funds will help them with meals, a temporary home, and the many expenses that insurance will not cover.
