Help Gary in his fight with cancer

Hi folks,

 

My name is Coy Joyner and I'm writing on behalf of my good friend Gary Della Croce. As many of you know, Gary is fighting stage 4 colorectal cancer, his second bout with this awful disease, and he needs our help.

 

He is currently receiving therapy at Texas Oncology in Austin and, as is often the case with cancer, his treatment is nearly as bad as the disease itself. While the meds are keeping his cancer at bay, it is also resulting in tough side effects for Gary, including loss of appetite, weight loss and lack of mobility. His doctors continue to work with him on the right combinations and types of medications, but one thing he has found that dramatically improves his quality of life are regular vitamin-infused IV drips that help him stay hydrated, regain his appetite and put on weight.

 

That's where I'm asking for your help - I'm putting this GoFundMe together to collect funds to ensure Gary has the money for three IV drips per week for the remainder of this year and all of next (if not more!) The funds might also be used to research and try other therapies to help him live his best life possible.

 

For $250, you can "sponsor" an IV drip for Gary to help him gain weight (he is currently holding steady at 148 lbs - yes, 6'7'' Gary) and increase his mobility (he was recently able to make a trip to South Padre Island, not far from where we grew up, to take in a little sea, salt and sunshine.)

 

Our goal is $45k. Any amount you can spare is welcome, but the timing is now and the situation is urgent to ensure he can keep up this positive momentum.
