I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help, but here I am. My name is Gary Morris, and I run Morris and Company LLC, a small handyman service in Arcata, CA. I have a wonderful wife and six kids, and we’ve always managed to get by thanks to hard work and the support of our community. But recently, everything changed. On May 15th, I was hospitalized at Saint Joseph after suffering seven broken ribs, a broken scapula, and a collapsed left lung. The doctors told me I wouldn’t be able to do any physical work for at least 6 to 8 weeks. I was discharged yesterday, and I’ve never been hurt so badly in my life.


This injury means I can’t operate my business or provide for my family the way I always have. The bills are piling up, and we need help to get through this tough stretch while I focus on healing. I’ve built my business and reputation on Nextdoor, and I know there are good people in this community who look out for each other. Anything you can offer will help us keep the lights on, pay the rent, and make sure my family is taken care of while I recover.
