Help Gary Get His Life-Saving Liver Transplant
Gary is in need of a life-saving liver transplant due to cirrhosis caused by fatty liver nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
Which has caused him to also have
Esophageal varices which restricts blood flow through the liver, causing a buildup of pressure in the portal vein, the major vein that carries blood from the intestines to the liver.
We would like to start by thanking everyone for the love and support we have been shown since finding out his condition has progressed to this point.
Gary is the person who has always gone out of his way to help others and never asks for anything in return.
He is used to being the one helping others and fixing their problems so this is hard for him.
The medical costs are already adding up fast with multiple doctor and testing visits and trips back and forth to Nashville. He has to have all of his teeth pulled, which has to be done in the hospital since he has liver failure.
Thankfully we do have health insurance but it doesn't come close to covering everything.
Post transplant he will also require several expensive medications some of which he will need to stay on for the rest of his life.
We will need to stay in Nashville for 4 to 6 weeks when he has his transplant so he can be monitored closely and have testing and doctor visits almost daily. This means we will have to get a rental or Airbnb since we live nearly 3 hours from Vanderbilt, where his transplant will be done.
If you are able to help, it is greatly appreciated, but if you aren't able to donate, please share and continue to send prayers.
