(Mollie needs a heart transplant) Hello everyone, as you all know my sister Mollie and her partner Gary have just had a baby boy but unfortunately I need to explain why we are asking for your help!
Mollie and Gary found out they were expecting a few months after we said goodbye to our mummy. Obviously over joyed the good news didn't last! At the 12 week scan baby Henry had fluid on the back of his neck which needed further testing. When the results came back it was said he had a 1/2 chance of downs and a 1/5 chance of Edwards or Patel syndrome. In this time Mollie also discovered she had gestational diabetes. After an agonising few weeks Henry had the all clear from all at 16 weeks. The pregnancy was tough on Mollie but we did then understand why! She gave birth to Thier beautiful son was born on Saturday 31st August and was healthy. Mollie and Gary took baby Henry home but unfortunately on day 3 of being at home Mollie started to feel very unwell. An ambulance was called and Mollie was taken to queen Alexandra hospital in Harlow where just a few days before had had their beautiful son. Mollie had some tests and it was discovered she had heart failure and her heart was only working at 20% capacity, she was given drugs and different medication and test to determine wether her heart could be saved! We were hopeful for a few days until they couldn't do anymore at the hospital she was in. She was transferred to royal papworth hospital in Cambridge to have more tests done. Unfortunately it was discovered that her heart was virtually un repairable. They tried to do a procedure on her heart through her leg but unfortunately didn't work. She then had open heart surgery to put a temporary pump in her heart that's keeping her alive. She now needs a heart transplant and still extremely poorly. Thankyou for reading and any support or donations will be to help keep their home / car and lives somewhat normal.
